Each student-athlete is provided with numerous support and enrichment services to help them achieve this essential balance to reach their maximum potential. Academic Success • In the spring 2018 semester, 74.6% of all student- athletes achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and set an all-time high with a 3.309 cumulative GPA • Barry has had four NCAA Elite 90 winners: Linda Fritschken (women’s tennis) 2015, Renato Lombardi (men’s tennis) 2014, and Daniel Stapff (men’s golf) 2012 and 2010 • 435 Scholar All-Americans, including 61 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in 34 years • Anna Hallbergson-Lewis (2000) and Marya Morusiewicz (1996) earned NCAA Walter Byers Scholarships. Barry is the first school among all divisions to have two winners • Barry has had 10 NCAA Woman of the Year finalists since 1996: Jelena Momirov (2017), Akemi Maehama (2014), Grace Collins (2012), Barbi Pocza (2011), Greta Trotman (2006), Melissa Lehman (2005), Victoria Courmes (2003), Anna Hallbergson-Lewis (2000), Janina Morusiewicz (1998), and Marya Morusiewicz (1996) • Bill Reifsnider (baseball), Cindy Yuan (volleyball), Victoria Courmes (tennis), Patrick Rittenauer (tennis), Shyla Rider (softball), Grace Collins (softball), Akemi Maehama (tennis), and Dee Espinosa (softball) received NCAA postgraduate scholarships • Barry University has won the NCAA President’s Award for an Academic Success Rate above 90 percent for the last five years Administrative Staff
